Getting into the building
Which entrance to use, whether there is a step, where to park, and whether the counter can be reached by someone using a wheelchair or a walker.
This is the single most useful paragraph a small municipality can publish about its own office, and almost none of them do. It needs somebody to walk the entrance once and write down what they find.

After hours and public works emergencies
A water main breaks at nine at night. The number a resident should call belongs here, in large type, on the page they will find first.
This concept has no such number to publish, so it publishes none.
Common requests, and where they go
Utility billing, dog licences, building enquiries, cemetery records, freedom-of- information requests: a short list of what the office handles and which of the three people above deals with it.
The Village has not published this breakdown, so it is not guessed at here. It is perhaps two hours of staff time and it removes most of the phone calls.
Territory — the Village's words go here, not ours
This concept reserves a space for an acknowledgment of territory and deliberately writes none of it. The wording belongs to the Village of Hazelton and to the Nations concerned, settled between them.
It is not copy for a design studio to draft, and it is not a paragraph to be borrowed from a neighbouring council's website. A designer supplying that text would be doing the wrong thing well.
